Vegetable Biryani with our Biryani Spice Bag

Recipe for Vegetable Biryani and Directions to Use:

Serves: 3-4

Sizzle: Heat 3 tbs oil/ ghee in a pressure cooker. Add 1 SPICE BAG. Add 1 sliced onion, fry until it turns golden brown along with 2 slit green chillis. Add 2 tsp ginger garlic paste, saute until the raw smell is gone. Add 1 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp chilli powder, 1 tsp garam masala.

Stir: Add 1 cup mixed diced vegetables – Carrot, French Beans, Potato, Cauliflower, Peas and saute for 2 mins. Add 1 tomato (cut into 4 pieces), freshly chopped mint leaves & coriander leaves. Mix it and fry it for 3 mins on medium flame and lower it.

Cook: Add 2.5 cups of water and salt as per taste. Bring it to boil. Add 2 cups (300 gms) of basmati rice (washed and soaked for 30 mins) and stir it once to avoid breaking of rice. Cover the lid and cook this on high flame for 1 whistle.

Enjoy: Gently give the rice a final stir and serve while hot with Onion/ Cucumber yoghurt raitha.
