Quick recipe for Ghee Rice/ Jeera Rice and Directions to Use:
Serves: 3-4
Sizzle: Heat 3 tbs ghee in a pressure cooker. Add 1 SPICE BAG. Add 1 sliced onion (optional), fry until it turns golden brown. Add 1 tbs ginger-garlic paste (optional), saute until the raw smell is gone
Stir: For Ghee rice –> Add 2 tbs of Peas, diced carrots (optional)
For Jeera rice –> Add ½ tsp shahi jeera
Cook: Add 1 cups of water and salt as per taste. Bring it to boil. Add 1 cup (250 gms) of basmati rice (washed and soaked for 30 mins) and stir it only once to avoid breaking of rice. Cover the lid and cook this on high flame for 1 whistle.
Enjoy: Gently give the rice a final stir and garnish with some freshly chopped coriander leaves and serve while hot.
